“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
“Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” Romans 6:12-14
Righteousness in the Bible is the state of moral perfection required by God to enter Heaven. However, the Bible clearly states that human beings cannot achieve righteousness through their own efforts: "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God's sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin" (Rom. 3:20). This tells us that whatever we do on planet Earth, we will all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ; everyone will receive the reward for all they do in this body, whether it be good or bad. Once we have accepted Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we become new creations and old things have passed away. We must become new in all things, in behaviour, our thinking, manner, attitude, the way we approach things and the way we talk to others, as ambassadors for Christ.
Righteousness by Faith is not merely an act of Justification, but includes Sanctification, which we must all, as Christians attain if we want to go to Heaven. When our Lord died, “He died once to break the power of sin. But now that He lives, He lives for the Glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.” (Rom. 6:10-11) NLT).
Therefore, we must preserve
our mortal body from sin as it is the temple of our Lord Jesus Christ, for the
wages of sin is death, but the Gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
our Lord and Saviour, Who created us for righteousness in all that we do. I
pray God will endow us all with the mindset of Christ in Jesus’ Name, Amen!
Remain Blessed.
