Created to Finish Well

“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8

Points to Note:

1) Everyone God creates has an assignment to fulfil on earth.

2) Some realised this on time and key in quickly. Some were delayed. Some deviated. Some got cut up with wrong assignments initially and later realigned to God's purpose for their lives. While some never discovered what theirs is at all.

3) Paul deviated but later catch up with God's help.

4) He was confident that he has finished his assignments triumphantly, so he wrote confidently.

5) He gave ALL his commitments, loyalty and dedication sacrificially to God. These are some of the qualities missing in so many Christians of today.

6) He was handing over the Barton of righteousness to Timothy. You see...

"God's workmen pass on but God's work continues "

7) He was given his last final words. Would we have relevant evidence of righteousness to pass on at our time?

8) Apostle Paul throughout his used the picture of the Christians running a race. We are all running the race of life. Only, some to eternal life while some to eternal damnation.

9) He was confident that he has finished well. He has certain of the Crown awaiting him.

10) Christians must be careful not to be 'Reward oriented' only in fulling our purpose and destiny in life. Be careful of wrong motives.

11) We must concentrate on pleasing the Lord God the Rewarder not just on the Rewards alone.

12) Lastly, God encourages us to look forward to seeing and spending with Him. And this is the joy we see in Paul even though he was going to be brutally killed. May God help and bless us all. Amen.
