“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”
John 15:4
“Not
forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but
exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day
approaching.” Hebrews 10:25
The main reason why God created us, His being is for Him to receive glory from our lives. In other words, He wants us to live lives that glorify Him.
Have you wondered why God created
us? Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good
works and glorify your father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16.
According to John 15:4-5, the Lord
is commanding us to abide in Him and Him in us since we cannot bear fruits by
ourselves except, we abide in Him.
Jesus is the light of the world and
we are the salt of the world. The word of God must dwell richly in us to be
more productive as a child of God. In Galatian 5:22-23, it talks about the
fruits of the spirit, love, joy, peace, long suffering etc, which are
characteristic of Jesus Christ. Since we confess to have had personal encounter
with Him, we must bear these fruits. As a body of Christ, there should be no
division, remember one spirit, soul and body.
Hebrew 10:25 says, ‘not forsaken
the assembly of ourselves, but exhorting one another in His word.
Remember, it is impossible for two to work together except they agree. Amos
3:3. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in
the midst of them” Mathew 18:20.
Ask it shall be given to you, seek
and you shall find, knock and it shall be open unto you. All these can be
achieved in love, unity and in spirit. John 14:16-17
