Deuteronomy 2:1-4, 2Corinthians 2:14, John 16:33

What is victory to victory? It interprets in a layman’s point of view that there is no failure whatsoever. There is nothing bad in having a desire to have an all round victory. Victory can also be defined as being a winner when we defeat our opponent or achieving success in something in a battle or success in a competition. Defeating our adversary the devil all the time is an example of moving from Victory to Victory. I pray that we shall continue to see the downfall of Satan always. May we conquer and resist the devil. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

To be victorious we are required to focus on the Author and Finisher of our Faith and avoiding the lust of the flesh and avoid sins, we are required to be imitators of Christ. To have victory in our Christian journey we must not be of this world, even though we are in this world. Romans 12:2, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

In order to move from Victory to Victory as a Christian there must be checks and balances in our Christian Journey. The Bible says we should examine ourselves daily to see whether we are still in faith. The victory of Christ imparts to us the victory over the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. We have to be like Jesus and avoid all temptations like Jesus did during His 33 years of life on planet Earth. “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:24; see also Romans 5:20–21).

Finally, a day will come when the victories of Jesus will be fully realised and celebrated in the New Heavens and Earth: “He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove His people’s disgrace from all the Earth. The LORD has spoken” (Isaiah 25:8).

Wishing the members of Hope Band a Happy Anniversary and total victory in Jesus Name.
