7.7.7.7.7.7.
Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose
Mind is stayed on Thee. Isa. 26.6
1 mf Safely through another week
God hath brought us on our way;
On the approaching Sabbath-day,
Day of all the week the best,
Emblem of eternal rest.
2 f Mercies multiplied each hour
Though the week our praise demand;
Guarded by almighty pow’r’
Fed and guided by His hand;
di Though ungrateful we have been,
Often made returns of sin.
3 mp While we pray for pad’ning grace,
In the great Redeemer’s name,
Shows Thy reconciled face,
Shine away our sin and shame;
From our worldly cares set free,
May we rest this night with Thee.
4 mf When the morn shall bid us rise,
May we feel Thy presence near;
May Thy glory meet our eyes,
When we in Thy house appear;
cr There afford us, Lord, a taste
Of our everlasting feast.
5 mf May Thy gospel’s joyful sound
Conquer sinners, comfort saints;
cr Make the fruits of grace abound,
Bring relief for all complaints:
f Such may all our Sabbath prove,
Till we join the church above.
Amen.
