Chivalry has fully come to stay. Women no longer expect their male counterparts to extend special privileges to them at the height of their equality bid. A man is no longer required to open d door for a lady if she gets to the door first. A man is no longer required to pay for a lunch or dinner if the lady initiated the date, she would pay for both of them. They call it high achievement in their pursuit for equality; I call it, freedom to men.
The term gentleman no longer applies as it has now been consigned to the rubbish bin of history. If your female colleague is not handicapped, you should not offer to help her with her carry case as that indicates that you see her as the weaker species that she does not want to be seen as. I really hope this has also got to Nigeria; it will be a welcome development for guys over there.
