I think government should brace up for trouble if in the next 6 months we can’t see anything on ground; we don’t need to be told of what have been done, we must be able to see them by ourselves and make judgement. However, we must be sincere in our expectations and set achievable targets. Refineries won’t get completed in 6 months but we must see a workable process that is leading to local production of PMS in quantities that would meet local demand; we should even begin to think of exporting fuel products to those countries we are buying from at the moment. The opposition should form watchdogs and be sincere in their criticisms but must be thorough in their scrutiny of government activities and policies. One of the problems we have had in the past is that; we lack sincerity in our criticism; we make up stories and put such forward for debate while we throw real and major issues away. Half-truth is no truth. Media should take proactive steps in investigating activities of government, monitor progress; they should show to viewers the state of our refineries now and what they have been up to in 6 months. Sahara reporters should look for credible reporters who are truthful and sincere in their reporting and not feeding the public with lies and propaganda. We don’t have to paint our stories with platitudes to earn sympathy; telling the Nigeria story raw is enough to evoke emotions and sympathy but we tend to add coloration to it and that destroys the potency of the struggle. We can win if we keep fighting.
