Some people look down on house fellowships because they think there is nothing in it for them. Oh how wrong!
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20
The presence of God is not limited by size of the believers, hence the Lord promised to show up even if only two or three people are meeting in His name. Whatever His presence can accomplish in a regular church setting, can also take place in a house fellowships. Testimonies abound as proof of this. Is God present in your house fellowship? Are there testimonies of God’s great moves at your centre? If No, call upon the Lord to manifest His presence and power in your local house fellowship.
A vibrant house fellowship should provide benefits to members. First of these is healing. James 5:14-15 says anyone who is sick should send for the church elders. An elder may not necessarily be someone who is old but a leader. People should be able to call on the leader of the house fellowship to anoint and pray with them to receive their healing. One sick person cannot heal another sick person except under exceptional circumstances. As a house leader, you must be prepared to obey the Scriptures and pray for the healing of sick members, God will honour your faith. A house fellowship should also be a place of deliverance. Those in the neighbourhood should be able to run to the place for deliverance. Many years ago, in a particular house in Lagos state where we had a house fellowship, an incident took place. The house fellowship centre was on the ground floor but a temporary resident of one of the upper flats rushed in one day to describe how she saw certain ghosts in the apartment. She immediately asked for prayers and was prayed for. The house fellowship members kept praying for that apartment until it was completely delivered. Your house fellowship should be capable of ministering deliverance to those who come there. With the intensive prayers of house fellowship members, a house covenanted to demons and its residents can be set free. If your house fellowship falls short of these, pray for it today.
KEY POINT:
A house fellowship is like bringing the Ark of the Covenant into a residence or temple. Every Dragon there must give way.
