Explain the teaching role and responsibilities in education and training |
As a teacher in education and learning it is my
responsibility to make sure that learning takes place in a structured and
conducive manner.
I am required to identify the needs of my learners and plan
accordingly so that those needs could be appropriately met. This process can be
repeated during the training because some needs might be difficult to identify
until I meet the learning and find out; I will then consider such and
incorporate in my plan.Once the course has been planned and designed, it's my responsibility as a teacher to ensure that the course is well delivered in a manner that the learner will be able to achieve their learning needs. My mode of delivery should meet up with the needs of the learning and teaching must be done in an atmosphere that is conducive for learning. It's my responsibility to support their learners and assess their skills and knowledge through a range of formative assessment tasks. I must ensure that all
learning outcomes are covered and all objectives met. It is
also my responsibility as a teacher to continuously assess the progress of my learner
through formative assessment while during the learning process and summative
assessment at the end of the course. Constructive feedback should be given to
the learner and the progress of the learning should be recorded according to the
laid down procedure.
Proper evaluation is also a key responsibility of a teacher.
As a teacher, I should continually review the effectiveness of the course,
including the content, delivery methods, resources, assessment strategies,
environmental issues and learner satisfaction. I should allow my learners to
evaluate the teaching process and provide feedback either verbally or using an
evaluation form.
Other responsibilities include; keeping myself up to date in
both teaching and my field through continuous professional development,
maintaining high standards in my work and conduct and complying with the rules
of the organisation that I work for as well as legislation and codes of
practice
