Bible in A Year: Genesis 23-26

MEMORIZE: “For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him” (Isaiah 64:4).

READ: Isaiah 64:3-4

It is important to hear from the Lord at the beginning of a year, project, relationship or program. If you can pay the price to hear Him, situations and circumstances that will come your way will listen to you. Usually, many find themselves too busy to hear from God and set out to decree certain desires. Yet they are surprised when their desires are never realized. Has the Lord spoken to you concerning this day, week, month or year? If you have not heard from Him, take time off to be with Him, talk to Him, worship Him and wait in His presence. He will speak to you.

It is important to wait on His Word because His Word comes with unbeatable directions that can secure the victory, breakthrough or success you crave. If you are in doubt of this, look at Peter. He toiled all night without catching a fish. Then the Lord chose his boat to teach the people by the lake of Gennesaret and Peter waited on the Lord. He did not become impatient he just waited. Sometimes, after you have done something to provoke the Word, you may need to wait. Have you been waiting on Him for long? Keep your cool. Don’t be discouraged, wait some more. If you become impatient you may lose the Word that can transform your life. Peter finally received the Word and it gave him the direction he needed to change his story and unpleasant situation. As you wait on Him this season, you will hear Him for He will speak to you.

Apart from the directions that He gives, there are lots of other benefits awaiting those who wait on Him. Today’s passage says what God has prepared for those who wait on Him is beyond imagination. This year, God has prepared so much for you but to receive them, you must be prepared to wait. The more you wait on Him, the more you take home from His presence will be. Nobody waits on Him and leaves empty. If you are too busy to wait on Him, you are ignoring Him. Waiting on Him is recognizing Him as your source. Wait on Him from today!

PRAYER POINT:
Ask for grace to wait on Him without losing stream. Father, uphold the leadership in Nigeria and use them to lead us to our promised land.
